This will be listed under salvation and it is not Mormon. It is Christian teaching which gets its final authority from the Bible. The book Victory over the Darkness is where this was taken and the bible verses from the Bible only.

(Victory Over the Darkness, by Neil Anderson)

1.God gives you a new I.D.  You have a new background.  Your past is gone.  God puts you “in Christ”.  You are no longer “in Adam”.  2 Cor. 5:17

2. Your old self was crucified with Jesus.  You are no longer a slave to sin.

Romans 6:6

6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

3.God calls you “saint”, not “sinner”.  Christians are not “sinners saved by grace”.

5. You passed out of death into life.  John 5:24 24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

6. You are a child of God.  John 1:12 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

7. You have been raised up with Jesus and seated in Jesus in heaven.

Ephesians 2:6 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

8. You have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.  Ephesians 1:13 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

9. God’s power is in you.

Ephesians 1:19-20;  19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

Ephesians 3:20 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

10. You have bold, confident access to the Father thru faith in Jesus.

Ephesians 3:12 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

11. Your sins are forgiven.  Colossians 2:13 13And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

12. You have a cleaned conscience.  Hebrews 9:14 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

13. You belong to Jesus.  1 Corinthians 15:22 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

14. You have every spiritual blessing in Jesus.  Colossians 3:1 Not Carnality but Christ

1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

15. You know for sure you will go to heaven.  Hebrews 6:19 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,

16. God will cause you to want to and be able to obey Him.  Philippians 2:13 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

17. God will complete the work He began in you.  Philippians 1:6 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

What Has our WORLD come to?  Who are they to decide what is ethical or safe enough for my family? NO one but each person can make that choice for their own body and their own family. They say safe but aren’t there the same issues with medicines and other foods that are deemed safe and then RIPPED from the shelves for cancer or liver issues, death, etc. They cannot erase the ethical issues here even if the medical safety were not an issue. I cannot believe that at some point a cloned animal is not going to cause issues as a food source.
They say it’s safe but that does not mean it is good enough for my family. We won’t be buying meat from animals that were produced in a way not created by God the old fashioned way. There’s something wrong with the fact that cloning is being done to living creatures anyway….I will not eat them to make it acceptable. Just because some FDA or official says it’s safe does not mean it is morally right nor does it mean that in five years they won’t come back and say…oh, our mistake, now we know it causes your offspring to mutate or something horrible. Even if nothing goes “wrong” it is still wrong. Another disgusting thing is that they are not even using the clones but the clones offspring in some cases for human consumption. They cannot sell this to me regardless of how far down the genetic ladder they go….a clone is a clone.

FDA OKs meat, milk from most cloned animals

Source: http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/01/15/fda.cloning/index.html

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) — Food from healthy clones of cattle, swine and goats is as safe as food from non-cloned animals, the Food and Drug Administration said in a report released Tuesday.

Debate has raged around food products from cloned cattle, such as this one produced by the company Viagen.

“Extensive evaluation of the available data has not identified any subtle hazards that might indicate food-consumption risks in healthy clones of cattle, swine, or goats,” the 968-page “final risk assessment” concluded.

“Thus, edible products from healthy clones that meet existing requirements for meat and milk in commerce pose no increased food consumption risk(s) relative to comparable products from sexually-derived animals.”

But the FDA said it needs more information to determine the safety of meat and milk from cloned sheep. The FDA also concluded that food from newborn cattle clones “may pose some very limited human food consumption risk.”

The purpose of using cloned animals is to improve the overall value of a given herd by creating genetic copies of donor animals, resulting in a herd that produces higher-quality milk and meat.

For years, heated debate over the use of cloned animals for food production has stretched from Congress to cattle farms and dinner tables nationwide. Video Judy Fortin has more on the debate over meat and milk from cloned animals ».

Dr. Stephen Sundlof, director of the agency’s Center of Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, acknowledged the controversy to reporters.

About half of the more than 30,500 comments from the public the FDA has received about the matter have dealt with labeling, he said.

But, he added, agency regulators cannot require cloned products be labeled as such if — as they assert — there is no material difference between them and food produced by conventional methods.

“There’s really nothing for us to label,” he said.

Consumers won’t be able to figure it out for themselves, he said. No test exists that could distinguish meat from a cloned animal from other meat.

Either way, food products from cloned animals or their offspring would not reach store shelves for years, experts said.

But companies could label their clone-free products as such, Sundlof said. In addition, foods labeled “organic” would not contain cloned products.

How have people of color been treated and what have Mormon prophets said about people of color?  Keep in mind that the modern day prophets were the ones that had the authority to speak for God.

When the LDS church began in 1830 segregation was the rule and even Christian churches discriminated against people of color….There is a HUGE difference because The Christian GOD did not discriminate against anyone (never has He discriminated against people of color) and the Mormon church’s god did proclaim a curse against people of color so a people can make a huge mistake but for their god to make a mistake like that is pretty catastrophic. The true God says..(Galatians 3:28) “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Any Christian at that time that participated in slavery and segregation was ignoring Paul’s teaching that all men are free and one in Christ. God of the bible never had a part in that nor did the bible ever teach such a thing and remove it from it’s text years later. This is a religion that CURSES and ENTIRE people one day, and offers them greater “privileges” the next.

In their own words:

Brigham Young: Second Prophet and President of the Mormon Church ” I have never yet preached a sermon and sent it out to the children of men, that they may not call Scripture.” Journal of Discourses, Vol 13, page 95

FFF:He is saying his own teaching is SCRIPTURE so for those Mormons that want to say well, it’s not scripture your own prophet says it was. If he’s lying then he’s a false prophet. You need to decide what you believe if he’s not a false prophet then his teachings are Scripture because he said so. So, here’s what he has to say about PEOPLE of COLOR.

“You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly without the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind. The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his bretheren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings. This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark on him, which is the flat nose and black skin.Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race-that they should be the “servant of servants;”and they will be, until that curse is removed; and the Abolitionists cannot help it, nor in the least alter that decree.” Journal of Discourses, Vol 7, pages 290-291

FFF: Another thing about slavery. I know a lot of people who have a lot of hard feelings about the slavery and what people of color had to endure. If it was a deserved curse they have no reason to feel discriminated against, they have no reason to have such hard feelings today. The slavery of the African American was unjust, unfair, uncivilized, and can in no way be pushed onto the responsibility of God. Man made that disgusting choice and African Americans have every right to feel discriminated against because this was not a curse from God. It never has been and it never will be.

“In our first settlement in Missouri, it was said by our enemies that we intended to tamper with the slaves, not that we had any idea of the kind, for such a thing never entered our minds. We knew that the children of Ham were to be the “servant of servants” and no power under heaven could hinder it, so long as the Lord would permit them to welter under the curse, and those were known to be our religious views concerning them.” Journal of Discourses, Volume 2, page 172

“Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.” Journal of Discourses, Vol 10, page 110

FamilyFriendsFreedom says: The law of God, death on the spot for someone who mixes with people of African race….he also says it will always be so, so those who are marrying African Americans are not falling down dead today and why not if it is the law of God? You may say because the curse is lifted…….not according to this….it says it will always be so, always is a long time, always. Then, if it is the law of god then why would it change? My G_d does not change his laws, they have stayed the same since He first gave them. Why would you serve a god that changes his mind about so many things. Maybe, just maybe, he’ll change his mind about you too.

National Security   (Source: www.fred08.com)The first responsibility of government is to protect the American people, the homeland, and our way of life. Today we face the urgent threat of radical Islamic terrorists. Al Qaeda is committed to attacking us here at home, and wants to use weapons of mass destruction (WMD) to kill millions. We must never give them that opportunity. We must defeat the terrorists abroad, and that begins in Iraq and Afghanistan—the central fronts in this global war. We must show the world we have the will to fight and win. A weakened America – or an America that appears weaker – will only encourage further attacks. We must persevere. As Commander-in-Chief, the president must ensure the United States has the means to achieve victory. Presidential leadership requires talking to the American people about these stakes, mapping out a clear vision for success, and devising a comprehensive strategy for achieving it. I am committed to:

  • A larger, more capable, and more modern military that can defeat terrorists, deter adversaries, and defend the U.S. and our interests.
  • A missile defense system that can protect the U.S. and our allies from long-range ballistic missiles.
  • An enhanced intelligence community, with robust human-intelligence capabilities, focused on terrorism and proliferation.
  • A robust approach to homeland security that will protect our nation from terrorists and WMD, regardless of where they come from.
  • A strengthened system of global alliances to better combat terrorists, proliferators, and traditional threats to our interests.
  • A judicial system that deals with the realities of terrorists and unlawful enemy combatants.
Federal Budget and Spending/Budgetary Reform In a few short years—not a generation from now—a fiscal tsunami that could imperil our security and economic prosperity will hit our nation and place an unfair burden of debt on our children and grandchildren. The tens of trillions of dollars in debt that will be accumulated over the next few decades will do immense harm to our economy. This burden is now estimated at $170,000 per person and $440,000 per family. Time is running out to address this looming crisis. We need market-based approaches to reform that guarantee benefits for those who need them and embrace personal responsibility and cost-effectiveness without raising taxes. Given the scope and urgency of this problem, and the burden it will place on our children, reform is not only an economic necessity, it is a moral imperative that requires action now. I am committed to:

  • Opening the government’s fiscal books on this looming crisis for all to see and understand.
  • Working with individuals of all political persuasions to develop a comprehensive solution to the pending fiscal crisis.
  • Leading and making the hard choices necessary, to include cutting wasteful government spending, to safeguard our security, promote our prosperity, and protect our children and grandchildren from fiscal calamity.

Building Strong Families  (Source: http://www.fred08.com)

Strong families are the bedrock of our nation and our culture.  They are built around the sanctity of life and the institution of marriage, which is the union of a man and a woman.  To counter coarseness in today’s culture that oftentimes victimizes our children and undermines the traditional values parents want to instill, we must not only protect but strengthen the institutions of family and marriage. I am committed to:

  • Using the Presidency to encourage policies that promote a culture of life, strengthen the institution of marriage and traditional families, and advance freedom of religion.
  • Returning authority to the levels of government closest to families and communities—the states—and then protecting states from further intrusion by the federal government, the judiciary, and other states.
  • Combating the spread of obscenity over TV and other media by making sure parents can better exercise their responsibilities.

The United States is committed to the security of Israel and the safety of the Israeli people. The historical, familial and cultural ties of our peoples are the basis of this commitment. It is strengthened by the shared values and shared interests of our nations. Our mutual goal is an economically and militarily strong Israel at peace with its neighbors. We must exercise our traditional leadership role in the region and continue our longstanding support to Israel to achieve this vision.

Key Issues

Security Cooperation. Security assistance to Israel is a key pillar of U.S. foreign policy and provides a cost-effective way to ensure the security of one of America’s closest allies. The new U.S.-Israel security agreement forms the basis of this relationship and will help both the United States and Israel counter common threats in the Middle East and advance mutual goals. Meanwhile, we must also continue comprehensive strategic dialogues, joint military training, and cooperation on development programs such as missile defense.

Iran. Iran remains the world’s premier state sponsor of terrorism, has attempted to undermine regional stability, and has repeatedly threatened Israel. Iran is intent on developing nuclear weapons, longer-range missiles, and modern conventional forces. And it is led by a tyrant who has vowed to wipe Israel off the map. Iran also supports terrorist groups throughout the Middle East, such as Hamas and Hizballah, and is responsible for supplying weapons to extremists who are killing U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. A nuclear-armed Iran will not be tolerated. Its sponsorship of terrorism must end as well. We must work with the oppressed people of Iran to bring about regime change, while also working with other responsible democracies to isolate the regime and stop its illicit activities.

Syria. Syria is a state sponsor of terrorism and is determined to develop Weapons of Mass Destruction and advanced ballistic missiles as it builds up its military forces. Its active meddling in Lebanon’s internal affairs, and its support of Hezbollah, are destabilizing and must also end. Belligerent public statements by Syrian officials toward Israel and the military build-up along the Golan Heights continue to undermine the possibility of peace talks between Syria and Israel. Serious and sustained international pressure is integral to bringing about change in Damascus.

Hizballah. As Iran’s proxy against Israel and the West, Hizballah remains a terror network that poses a direct threat to Israel and U.S. interests in the region. Hizballah has continued to rearm in preparation for another fight with Israel despite its obligations under U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701. The group’s stranglehold over Southern Lebanon has increased and continues undermine Lebanese sovereignty. Hizballah is a terror organization that must be disarmed and disbanded.

Hamas. Hamas is another terrorist organization that must also be disarmed and disbanded. The United States should not recognize any Palestinian government run by Hamas, nor provide it financial assistance until Hamas recognizes Israel’s right to exist, renounces violence and terrorism, and adheres to all previous Palestinian agreements with Israel. The continued build-up of advanced weaponry by Hamas is a sign that the group does not desire peace and, though Israel should demonstrate restraint, it may be forced to take action against this growing threat.

Peace Process. Achieving the vision of two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living side-by-side in peace and security is the surest way to bring about an end to the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians. It is also essential to advancing the prosperity and security of both peoples. But to achieve this goal, Israel must have a reliable and credible partner in peace who will take serious steps to build trust and confidence, to include disbanding militias, ending terrorism, and cracking down on extremists. This will require the active support of other states in the region. Israel retains the right to take measures to defend itself, such as conducting counter-terrorist operations and completing its security barrier.

A Solid Record of Support
Fred Thompson’s statements and Senate record demonstrate strong and clear support for Israel and the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Speaking Out Against Iran and Syria. “The terror masters in Tehran and Damascus make only the most minor distinction between America and Israel. They say that America is the Great Satan, and Israel is the Little Satan, and both must be destroyed. The US must make it clear that we will not allow Iran to become a nuclear threat….In addition to pursuing sanctions and other traditional means, we need to take other steps to reach out to the Iranian people and help them get rid of their hated regime. Our goal is peace and freedom. The US must willingly accept its accustomed role of leadership in this effort.” (Thompson Statement Before the Republican Jewish Coalition on 10/16/07)

Affirming U.S. Support of Israel. “During last night’s debate in New Hampshire, I was appalled that none of the leading Democrats would stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself against Iran–a country intent on acquiring nuclear weapons and whose leader has vowed to wipe Israel off the map. A Thompson Administration would stand by Israel and all of our friends in the region. We would not wait for U.N. permission to support an ally or defend our interests abroad. The U.N. has not shown sufficient resolve toward stopping Iran’s nuclear ambitions.” (Thompson Press Release, 9/27/07)

Defending Israel’s Reaction To Missile Launches From Gaza. In defending Israel’s military response to these attacks he stated, “Let me ask you a hypothetical question. What do you think America would do if Canadian soldiers were firing dozens of missiles every day into Buffalo, NY? I can tell you, our response would look nothing like Israel’s restrained and pinpoint reactions to daily missile attacks from Gaza. We would use whatever means necessary to win the war.” (Haaretz, 9/12/07)

Senate Record. Fred Thompson supports legislation that advances the United States’ and Israel’s security and interests. During his time in the U.S. Senate, Fred Thompson voted for a number of measures important to both countries, including-

  • A Senate Resolution in 2002 Expressing Solidarity With Israel And Reaffirming Commitment To Israel’s Right To Self-Defense
  • The Iran and Libya Sanctions Act Extension of 2001
  • A Senate Resolution in 2001 Expressing Solidarity With Israel In Common Struggle Against Terrorism
  • The China Nonproliferation Act he authored, which imposed sanctions on proliferators of WMD.
  • The Iran Nonproliferation Act Of 2000
  • A Senate Resolution in 1999 Expressing Opposition To Unilateral Declaration Of Palestinian State
  • The Iran Missile Proliferation Sanctions Act Of 1998
  • The Jerusalem Embassy Act Of 1995
